It would be very handy to have a single operation to move an item to another list, and then replace the item with a link to that new location. Something like 'extract to existing list' as opposed to the current 'extract as an new list' My use case: I make a distinction between lists which contain mostly action/todo items (in which every item is a candidate for completion), and which are largely for reference/record. Sometimes I move at item from the former type of list to the latter, but want a link left behind. It's quite likely this is far too niche a feature to be worth implementing, but "if you don't ask you don't get" ;)

Hi, are you guys considering bringing any of the PWA features (offline support particularly) to Checkvist's desktop web app at some point? This has just come to mind after a storm put my internet out for a good part of the afternoon - somewhat frustrating!

I've sometimes been puzzled when I hit the "Go to due page" shortcut (dd) and it pops up the 'set due date' dialogue even though no item appears to be selected. I realise what's going on is that there is a selected item - but it's a completed item and the list has 'hide completed' setting on so I can't see it. Hitting ESC before trying dd again sorts this out. I wonder if it might be possible to ensure hidden items are not selected, or if that causes unwanted side-effects, then perhaps instead to ensure dd triggers 'go to Due page' if the only selected item is a hidden one?

I've had a few cases lately of Checkvist (desktop web, production version) stopping accepting most inputs. When this happens, some commands work (eg. show/hide details or completed items), but the selection/cursor can't be moved, nor can any edits be made. When this happens, it seems to be stuck that way until I do a page refresh. Thus far I don't know how to reproduce this, it just crops up now and then. Has anyone else come across this?

Sometimes when I switch to a different list (ll + first letter or two of destination list name + enter), the list opens in a new tab. Typically it will open in the same tab, but now and then it's in a new one. I think this is most common from the Due list, but I haven't kept a careful note and wouldn't swear to it. It's a minor irritant and I typically just close the new tab, go back to where I was and try again. This is in Chrome on a mac. Has anyone else experienced this or know why it might happen?

In the Due list, when you change the due date of an item, the currently selected item follows that item to its new position, eg. if there's an item due today, and you change it to a week away, the selected line shifts to the 'next week' section of the Due list. I find this awkward as I'm invariably processing the items in a given section --ideally 'Today', but more often 'Overdue' ;( The current behaviour forces me to move the selection back to where it was. I think the natural behaviour is to position the selection on the item subsequent to the item that just had its due date changed.

Any Toggl users here? I'm putting together an integration so the toggl (Chrome extension) button ( https://github.com/toggl/toggl-button ) is displayed for tasks on a Checkvist list. It's dead simple (a few lines of javascript), but I'm slightly torn on the best way to handle one aspect: whether or not toggl is shown for a particular list. It can't be always-on, as it adds too much clutter for non-projecty lists (who wants a timer button for the carrots on their grocery list?). What I have now is that if any task on a list is tagged #toggl, then all tasks on that list will have the toggl button. A few alternatives I canvassed were: - display toggl buttons only on subtasks of a task tagged with #toggl - display toggl buttons only on focused (hoisted) tasks - find some other way to indicate that all of a list's tasks should have the button, eg. something encoded in the list's name I think what I have now is the most convenient of these (I don't want to hav...

Is there a way of getting a summary of a task's repeat settings displayed alongside the task (ie. similarly to the way now the due data is displayed inline to the right of the task text)? Would this be achievable with some custom css for example?

I wonder if you guys would consider an improvement to the layout of the 'Due Repeat' dialogue/form? Because of the linear layout of the day letters (M, T to S) and checkboxes, it often takes me more time than necessary to pick which checkboxes to select (process: "hmm, day labels are to the right of the checkbox, so for Tuesday it must be the checkbox to the left of the 'T' ") Ideally the letters should be above or below the checkboxes, at least for me. It's possible I'm a bit visually dense, but hopefully Checkvist is for dense folk too ;)

A couple of issues relating to manual due date input (the picker's fine): 1. I'm a bit puzzled by the format. The manual seems to suggest both dd/mm/yyyy and mm/dd/yyyy work. The former seems to win in case of ambiguity. But an attempted dd/mm/yy gets interpreted as yy/mm/dd. I find this confusing enough that whenever I manually enter a date I have to check after what date it turned out to be. Any chance of pinning to one (preferably user-chosen) format, and refusing to accept bad input? 2. Relatedly, invalid date input (eg. 45/45/45) results in a 'due date was updated' message, but any due date is removed. I think I'd call that a bug, or at least ambiguous feedback ;)

Just a reminder for anyone who finds the lack of a Due tasks list on the mobile version frustrating, that you can always use the main checkvist.com website on a phone. It's in effect kind of read-only (targets are too small to be really usable), but being able to see due tasks when I'm away from the computer is important to me. I had even considered consolidating all my lists into one so I could just use the single-list filter now available in the mobile app, but that's unwieldy. What happens if I (with a Pro account) share a list with a Free account user? For example can they see attachments I add?

I first tried out Checkvist for a while last year, but time pressures meant I had to shelve it. Anyway, I've just nearly completed another Pro trial period, and have to say I'm very pleased with it. The html5 mobile app is lacking in features right now (as I'm sure you guys are aware), but other than that, Checkvist is truly impressive in scope and execution. You should be proud of what you've achieved. I've just continued with a Pro subscription and expect to be making fairly substantial use of Checkvist over the next year. Cheers.

From the Checkvist reference doc (List Items->Details): "Non-Windows users can also view list item details temporarily by holding down Ctrl" I'm on a mac and this doesn't work for me. 'sd' does show the details as expected. For context, I was looking for a quicker way to grab a link to a list item. I don't think there's a keyboard shortcut for this? If not perhaps I'll put in a uservoice request.

If I email a task to a list with a due date attached, it gets dated a day early, eg. one with ^today gets a due date of yesterday, ^tomorrow becomes today, etc. I have my timezone correct in Checkvist's settings.

When opening the mobile app, I am more often than not presented with a 'Cannot update data, please sign out and sign in again' message. This seems to be mostly after a significant gap in use, and I'm not sure what the pattern is -- ie. whether it's time or number of edits done on other devices. In any case it diminishes the mobile experience. Is this to be expected? Is it just an artifact of the mobile app being immature?

A suggestion: the 'Show an empty text field after adding a task' option might be ideally implemented as a per-list toggle (with a keyboard shortcut, naturally) rather than a global setting. It's useful being 'on' when inputting many items in a row, and better 'off' when doing other things in a list, amongst which might be inputting single items.  I freely admit this would be a very marginal refinement and you might have more important things to do ;)

Came across Checkvist a couple of days ago, and am evaluating as a possible replacement for my current ToDoist + Trello setup. Must say so far I'm pretty blown away with what you guys have done here. Keyboard shortcuts up the wazoo, markdown, hoisting (yay!), great export options. Lots of really nice choices. The question for me is whether these good things can outweigh my general preference for native apps on all platforms (but especially mobile). Will see. But whichever way that goes, I'll be pointing out Checkvist to other folk.

Is there a way to filter for all the unscheduled items in a list?
