Google Plus is shutting down, we are moving to Discuss.checkvist.com

Dear friends, As you probably know, Google+ is going to shut down in a couple of months. It was a decent platform for us for many years, but now we have to ask you to move to our new discussion forum - https://discuss.checkvist.com If you need to comment on your old posts in this Google+ forum, please, consider creating a corresponding topic in the new place and add a link to the old discussion. See you there!

Hello friends

Hello friends, We have not created a new community site yet, so the announcements are still going here :) This update is mostly for Firefox users, we've finally created dedicated extensions for this browser and made some enhancements for the bookmarklet. Please check the blog post for details: http://blog.checkvist.com/post/179525651333/update-checkvist-bookmarklets Hope to get in touch soon, regarding the update about sharing :) Best,

Hello, friends!

Hello, friends! We've spent some time re-thinking list sharing in Checkvist. Some of you have already contributed to these discussions, and we think we're ready to present what the first release will consist of. The new sharing is still a 'beta', and it works only on https://beta.checkvist.com (same credentials, same data). But it's fully functional, and you can use it with real people/real data. Important changes - There are just 2 types of sharing: private, via email, and public, via a hyperlink. - Public lists links are unguessable for more security. The old "make list public" feature is retired (but old public lists still work). - Anyone can read a list using a public link. If the link grants write access, Checkvist account is required for writing. - Any list writer can share that list publicly, not just the list owner - A notification about public view enabling/disabling is sent with the usual change notifications emails. - 'Read-only' sharin...

Hello Friends

Hello Friends, Looks like G+ is shutting down and we probably have to move this community to some other place/service. We're considering to make a separate forum for that so far, using Discourse app. If you have any other suggestions or recommendations, please share. Best,

Lynn has published a great review of Checkvist - and funny enough, the only shortcoming she mentions is exactly the feature we are working on right now https://www.stabile.io/2018/08/27/my-favorite-organizing-tool-checkvist/ https://www.stabile.io/2018/08/27/my-favorite-organizing-tool-checkvist/

Hello, friends!

Hello, friends! Now you can search/filter notes without hacks like "Expand all" and Ctrl+F. Please read more in our blog post. Best, http://blog.checkvist.com/post/176492689678/search-and-filter-notes

Hello, friends

Hello, friends, Until now, you probably did not know that we have a beta for our Checkvist Mobile app. We definitely do, and if you want to test setting priorities on mobile, open your browser at https://mmm.checkvist.com At the first glance, it works, but if you notice any problems with it - we'd love to hear! Best, https://mmm.checkvist.com

Finally, the last bugfixes from beta go live to production (and we have a couple of nominations from Capterra)

Hi, Friends

Hi, Friends, Here is a summary post of our 7-day run. Most things from it you probably know from our previous postings, though :) http://blog.checkvist.com/post/175573362093/snacking-week-7-features-7-daily-updates As you see, now you can switch to the 'Darcula' UI mode right in the 'options' ('oo') menu:

Hello friends

Hello friends, We're working on the next update of Checkvist, and one of the changes there is a rework of copy/paste features. In the essence, we're now using desktop's clipboard to keep the copied data. This enables a couple of tricks: - you can paste plain text from the clipboard as a list item without going into 'editing' mode - you can paste images from the clipboard as attachments with a simple Ctrl+V on a selected list item (if you're PRO) I'd appreciate if you take a look how it works on https://beta.checkvist.com and comment here if you notice any glitches. As a side note, we've created a simple list with beta.checkvist.com changeLog. Not sure if it will last, it is a kind of experiment: https://checkvist.com/p/71313 Thanks :-) https://beta.checkvist.com

We've finally fixed the incorrect numbering brought by the latest Chrome update.

Critical bugfix update on https://m.checkvist.com - editing of list items on mobile might encode some characters into HTML, breaking content. Thanks Jayesh Bhoot for letting us know about the issue.

Hello

Hello, As we recently wrote ( http://blog.checkvist.com/post/170078871338/201801-welcome-the-first-update ), the aim this year is release more often, and shorten the feedback loop. This week we released a mobile update (check it out, it should be much better, especially if you use attachments), and the next release is planned for the desktop version. There were a lot of changes under the hood, too, so we would really like to ask for your help. If you have a minute, please log into Beta ( beta.checkvist.com , same data, same credentials), and tell us what you think: 1. New priority colors (later they'll be customisable, but now we'll live with these) 2. Sub-tasks counter on the Due page: if a task on a Due page has children, their number is shown along other attributes. 3. Attachment presentation: full-width, bottom of the task position for the embedded images (like in this list: https://beta.checkvist.com/checklists/656892 ) We'd like to make work with attachmen...

How to stop spammers, and not impair the good customer experience

I really don't like fixing such stuff, because it adds zero value for the normal customers. Still, have to fight it as well. Originally shared by Checkvist Not a 'feature update' but still important -- in order to stop spammers and save time on tidying up spammer accounts every now and then, we decided to use Google reCaptcha and email verification. Hope humans will not mind an extra click - and bots will get lost, finally. Privacy policy is updated, details are as usual, in the blog: http://blog.checkvist.com/post/166940442968/how-to-stop-spammers-and-not-impair-the-good http://blog.checkvist.com/post/166940442968/how-to-stop-spammers-and-not-impair-the-good

Do you like this update? We consider making a further step on the mobile app (create list + a native wrapper), but if you notice any bugs/problems on the main production site - please let us know! http://blog.checkvist.com/post/161727708808/editable-due-and-search-results-screens-plus

Hello, friends!

Hello, friends! Do you have large lists in Checkvist account? If so, could you please compare list loading/filtering performance on https://beta.checkvist.com and https://checkvist.com - do you notice any difference? Thanks, https://beta.checkvist.com

Hello friends

Hello friends, We are considering to change behaviour of move up/down command using ctrl+arrows for lists with hierarchy. The new approach is available on our beta site, https://beta.checkvist.com . Could you please try it out and tell us what you think? Thanks! https://beta.checkvist.com

Hi everyone

Hi everyone, I have a couple of news for you: - Checkvist is running on a new server (we migrated a week ago, so far so good) - On https://beta.checkvist.com you can try 'time estimation' feature ( http://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/82564-add-estimated-hours-for-completion-to-track-time ): - Mark a task with #30m or #4h or #2d tag to set estimate - On the parent task, press 'pc' for progress counter - Checkvist will show summary estimate of non-completed tasks (for those tasks where estimate is set) - Use popup over estimate to see total time estimate, including completed tasks. Feedback is welcome :) Best,
