#5 - Friday update. Our holiday ends +11d from now

#5 - Friday update. Our holiday ends +11d from now We like the yesterday's update. Not only it brings keyboard navigation to the Due date dialogue window, but also some smart syntax for setting the dates within the dialogue: - Arrow-down to go from the Due text field to the calendar - Tab to jump to ASAP, Repeat, and Calendar options +5 to set a due date 5 days from now +5w is 5 weeks from now, and so on Hope you'll like it too :)

I'm having trouble adding checkvist offline capability to my updated pixel 2. None of the instructions I've found on the web seem to work. I'd also like to use checkvist offline on my computer. Is that capability available yet?

4 - Thursday update: Header styling and step-by-step unfocus

Image
4 - Thursday update: Header styling and step-by-step unfocus It rains over here, and the weather is not as hot as you can expect it in Istria in the end of June. Means more 'dreamwork' for us - a seaside cafe among old pine trees. Boy, why can't it be forever :) Yesterday's update is two-fold - a bugfix and a feature extension. 1) A fix eliminates a small but naughty issue. If you combine Markdown headers with bold and italic formatting, 'mh' + 'bb' or 'ii' shortcuts, you know it used to work only one way: formatting first, headers second. Do it another way, and formatting is broken. Now you can apply the shortcuts in any order - 'mh', 'ii', 'bb', all will result in predictable styling. 2) The feature update brings more intelligence to the 'focus' (aka 'hoist', aka 'pin') feature. Press 'shift-right' to leave just one task or a node on the screen, press 'shift-left' to un-focus, and
Any thoughts on why my profile will not accept my Gravatar? Is there a known bug? Thanks in advance.

3 day - Wednesday. Select a target parent when 'mm'moving a task

3 day - Wednesday. Select a target parent when 'mm'moving a task Some features are plain usability enhancements that should have been done ages ago. Still, when you have a (very) limited number of working hands and hours, you have to choose, and some improvements wait for years to get implemented. This one waited for 3 years, but here it is, finally. Now you can select a target parent when moving a task with 'mm' shortcut. Just arrow-right to dig into the target list, and arrow-left to move a level back. Enjoy! :)

Hi

Hi, I found a bug? with the Sort (ss) function: If you have a mix of items starting with "[link: " it will order as if they were starting with a "L" - e.g. sorting the following 3 items alphabetically results in this order: ABC GHI [link:DEF| http://example.com ] But I expected this instead: ABC [link:DEF| http://example.com ] GHI i.e., ignore the "[link: bit" and only use the text I can read.

#2 Tuesday update: Refresh filter

Image
#2 Tuesday update: Refresh filter Snacking is bad, and 'No snacking' ( https://blog.intercom.com/first-rule-prioritization-no-sna …/) should be a strict rule when you prioritise product development. Still, we are on holidays, aren't we. And small issues you guys find and post to the community are begging to be fixed -- and seem like good candidates for the daily update plan. Yesterday we've updated the server with a small filter enhancement: an inplace filter refresh -- press [rf] and the filter will update without refreshing the whole page. The feature should be useful for those who work with large filtered lists, including ourselves. Hope you like it - and thanks @Konstantinos Kollias for the suggestion :)

#1 Monday update: Onboarding

#1 Monday update: Onboarding How much onboarding does a new customer need? Where is a line between 'not clear yet' and 'stop bothering me'? Checkvist has a rather simple onboarding - we are trying to explain the 'keyboard centric' concept of the app in a series of pop-up hints during a 'test drive'. HotJar monitoring shows that about 46% of all people who clicked 'Try now without registration' on the homepage are our target audience -- 'keyboarders' and confident users of outlining software. Still, we have only ~20% registration rate - where are the rest 26%? According to HotJar, temporary users are looking for 'pro' features - like attachments or multiselection. Seeing that they have to a) register first, and then b) start a free trial, they simply leave. With this update we allow temporary users to test all features, including 'pro' ones. Also, we've squeezed in a couple of new popup hints with small animation to dem

Hello, holidays || 7 updates per week challenge :)

Hello, holidays || 7 updates per week challenge :) A holiday at the sea is a perfect time to get fit - get rid of small issues, extra weight in code, outdated look and feel. We have a hypothesis there's enough time to prepare a small but useful daily server update between a morning swim and a night bottle of wine at the friends' terrace. The first update will fix some issues in the Checkvist onboarding, the rest 6 are bug- and usability fixes you've asked for. Let's see how we manage it :) Hey-ho!

Updating the `due: now` search results

Updating the `due: now` search results I often use the `due: now` search to see what I have pending While in this search i will move items to tomorrow by selecting them and typing `tm` I then want to see what remains as `due: now` Is it possible for this to dynamically update, or for a shortcut to 'refresh search results' ? Cheers

Mobile: Cannot load page data :undefined

Mobile: Cannot load page data :undefined I searched for that error here but not finding any reference. So after the mobile app loads I get the error, "Cannot load page data :undefined" At the top it states "No list" so I press the 'Home' icon and it loads my lists. I select a list and return to "No list" and "Cannot load page data :undefined" I suspect I've overlooked something but haven't discovered what it might be yet. I'm on a Samsung G5 with Android 6.0.1. Let me know if you need any other info.

I wanted to share something that has worked for me. Maybe someone else could benefit from it.

I wanted to share something that has worked for me. Maybe someone else could benefit from it. I have been using Auto Hotkey to generate a standardized date/time stamp. I have it set so that if I press the windows key and semi-colon (Windows Key + ; ), it will generate a date time stamp surrounded by two "*" for bolding the date, and a line break. It looks like this: **2018/06/06 07:53:09** The date is ordered yyyy/mm/dd ..... on purpose so that it sorts properly. Here's the app: https://www.autohotkey.com/ The script to do what I mentioned above is: #;:: FormatTime, TimeString, R, yyyy/MM/dd HH:mm:ss space := " " linebreak := "`+`r" send, **%TimeString%**%linebreak% return https://www.autohotkey.com/

Is there a way to have the sort function allow for reverse sorting?

Is there a way to have the sort function allow for reverse sorting? I have a technique where I use Auto Hotkey to generate a date and time stamp, but when I sort the list, it sorts from low to high (a-z), so the newest are at the bottom. I would like it to go high to low (z-a).

When emailing a task, is there a way to specify which heading it goes under when it arrives on Checkvist?

When emailing a task, is there a way to specify which heading it goes under when it arrives on Checkvist? As far as I know, it only can go to the top of the list.

I've unsuccessfully search around on how to print my outline with the triangular marks showing collapsed and expanded branches. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The print preview below do not show the the triangular marks. The list screen shot shows the triangular marks that I would like to see in print.

Tags (tt) feature is good.

Image
Tags (tt) feature is good. However, this is what I want to do. Enter a task and click a tag check box in the same row to tag the entry/task. See example. I suppose it is just one click, instead of entering tt, type tag, and press enter. Is this doable on Checkvist site? or Is there any faster way to assign tag without many clicks/keyboard shortcuts input.
