Is there any difference in functionality between the "[link: text|URL]" smart syntax links and "[text](URL)"...

Is there any difference in functionality between the "[link: text|URL]" smart syntax links and "[text](URL)" Markdown-style links? Generated HTML seems to be the same, the only difference is the assistant dialog that pops up when you start typing "[link:", which does not happen for Markdown links.

    Hello,

    Actually, no. Markdown-style links were added after custom [link: format, and we keep both. We consider adding the link assistance dialog to the markdown links as well but have not decided on right behaviour yet.

    Do you have any specific ideas regarding this?
