Hello!

Hello! I'm new to Checkvist. Coming over from Workflowy and loving what I'm seeing so far but I have a question. I love how you can toggle the list style per project, but is there a way to toggle it per node? For example, one sublist in my project is not tasks, but the rest are. I would love to be able to select that node and set the list style independently from the project.

Maybe there is a way to do this already? If not, does anyone else see value in this?

Thanks!

  1. Yes, easily done in Checkvist

Can’t remember all of the formats but if you start a single node with “[1]” all of the child nodes will be numbered overriding root list style

  2. Mark Dickens That's great and thanks, but I don't see an option to change it to "none". Yeah, I guess I could turn the whole list to none, but then I would have to go to the other 10+ nodes and manually set them to checkboxes. Instead, I'd rather set the whole list to checkboxes and specify that one node as none. Hmm. I wonder if the developer has the option in there for none? I don't see it in the docs as I assume they think you wouldn't have brackets if you didn't want anything.

  3. Well spotted, don’t think there is an in-app option to do this yet

  4. Hi Jacob Graf, welcome and thanks for writing about the issue.

There is no way to disable checkboxes markup if it is enabled for the whole list, you're right. In your situation, I'd use [*] to override checkboxes with simple bullets.

Not ideal, but probably good enough solution?

  5. Kirill Maximov got ya. I ended up changing the list to none and enabling my individual sub lists. Thanks!
