Hi Kiril
Hi Kiril,
I've been playing with tags to try to find a workaround to the problems of priorities not behaving like a proper AND search term and matching in this unhelpful hierarchical way. So far it seems that the tags match in a useful manner, i.e., a proper AND that can be combined with the due dates within a search which is great.
Now... my problem is that I use several tags (including the new time tags) for each items, but it doesn't seem to be possible to remove a tag from several items at once - you have to go through each, which is painful. Sure, you "ct" works over several items - but that kills all tags - not what I want!
Would it be possible (and faster than changing the search engine, IIRC you said multiple times that wouldn't happen anytime soon) to add a new "dt" command that would simply remove a given tag (or tags) from the highlighted items?
For example, say you have those 3 items selected:
- Do the dishes #MIT #now #15m
- Post to CV friends forum #MIT #house #10m
- Walk the dog #MIT #30m
Then "dt" with "#MIT #now" would remove #MIT from all 3 items, and #now from the first item.
Kinda like what "tt" does, but in reverse. WDYT?

Hello Xavier,
ReplyDeleteQuite a reasonable request. Removing some tags from multiple items is not very usable now. We have a request in our uservoice, with the current idea to show a list of tags to be removed on 'ct' keyboard shortcut. The first item in the list would be 'all tags', so you can remove either one selected tag, or all tags.
What do you think?
checkvist.uservoice.com - Allow to remove tags with multiple selection
This request is definitely easier to implement than proper search, we'll consider to add it to the next update.
Hi Kirill,
ReplyDeleteThe uservoice entry seems OK, as long as it works against multiple items I'll be happy :)
Xavier B It should, in the same way as 'ct' works now.
ReplyDeleteHi, Just wondering if that's still getting worked on, I would kill to be able to use it! I see there's been a release since but that feature's not in it, just wanted to make sure it's not forgotten :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Xavier B, this feature is not forgotten :) We're not working on it yet, but it is in our nearest todo.
ReplyDelete(In fact, we're fixing urgent notifications/sharing issues after the invasion of China spammers which occurred while we were on AmuseConf conference in Budapest).
Thanks for the reminder, anyway :)
Pretty please Santa, that's all I want for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCould you please check how 'ct' keyboard shortcut works on beta.checkvist.com - Checkvist: Online outliner and task manager for geeks - is it probably what you're asking for?
Cheers,
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, works exactly as I hoped!
Merry Christmas :)
