It would be very handy to have a single operation to move an item to another list, and then replace the item with a link to that new location. Something like 'extract to existing list' as opposed to the current 'extract as an new list' My use case: I make a distinction between lists which contain mostly action/todo items (in which every item is a candidate for completion), and which are largely for reference/record. Sometimes I move at item from the former type of list to the latter, but want a link left behind. It's quite likely this is far too niche a feature to be worth implementing, but "if you don't ask you don't get" ;)
Hello Alan, could you please explain why would you need to do it from the phone? Maybe automated backup to Dropbox would suit you better?
ReplyDeleteKirill Maximov Hi KIR. At this point, I find mobile Checkvist somewhat difficult to use on my phone. I realize it will continue to be developed and I look forward to that. For now, I am using a different tool on my phone to view my Checkvist lists utilizing the OPML data from the manual backup. I often do this soon after I have worked with my lists in the web app so the once daily backup to Dropbox does not happen soon enough. And I often find the need to do this when I am away from my computer. This is why I am using the manual backup on my phone. The functionality of the manual backup is working fine on my phone and I can continue to do that. I was just wondering if there was an easier way. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFor me, the automated backup suites well. As always, there are wishes: (a) option for rotating backups (e. g. last 7 days), or (b) include the date in the backup file. If the file name could be specified with placeholders (e. g. backup_YYYY-MM-DD.zip), both cases could be handeled.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation, Alan. The URL you can use is https://checkvist.com/checklists/export_all (you must be logged in into Checkvist for it to work).
ReplyDeleteRalf Hauber Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure why do you need backups rotation. Dropbox saves a history of each file for the last 30 days at least, and for the automated backup on our servers, we also store data for the last 30 days.
ReplyDeleteIs it what you need?
Kirill Maximov Thanks KIR.
