The final parenthesis is considered part of the link. I realise full well that a general solution is impossible, in particular because sometimes (e.g. Wikipedia) links do contain parentheses, but a heuristic that tries to keep parentheses balanced inside the URL and outside might just do the trick. Note how Google+ parses it correctly.
