Here is a list of current tree-editing changes on https://beta.checkvist.com:

1. On the profile page, we introduced an option "Enter always submits", disabled by default, to allow Facebook-style editing. We also clearly indicate multi-line mode, when it is activated.
2. Enter on an expanded parent item adds a child item. Enter on a collapsed node adds a sibling. - Looks like too ambiguous
3. Enter on a focused item always adds a child.
4. After item deletion, the selection is set to the next sibling. When the last child is deleted, selection is set to the parent.
5. New experimental 'tc' keyboard shortcut which remembers the URL of the currently selected node. This URL can be inserted with Ctrl+K dialog.

Please share your feedback, both positive and negative :)

  1. These changes seem sensible, and they appear to work well. So far, so good!

  2. Liking the `tc` shortcut, especially that it remembers the relative URI rather than absolute (which can cause problems when using absolute link in mobile version that was added in desktop version).

What I would really love to see is a way to quickly link to a specific task in a different list similar to the `lst` shortcut.  I use a master "Today" list to organize my tasks for the day that are pulled from multiple projects, so such a feature would save a lot of jumping between different lists to grab the URI of each task.

The dream would be to simply embed a task (and it's children) from one list in another.  This way, you could check off subtasks as you work off of a "Today" list, and it would be reflected in the actual task, saving you from jumping back and forth between lists.

  3. Sol M Thanks for your feedback and for your comments. We have this dream as well, and we'd really love to implement it one day. Please vote for https://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/2121-general/suggestions/86089-create-a-checklist-of-checklists
