Hello friends!
Hello friends!
Here comes the first preview of the next mobile release with Hoist(focus).
You can try the new version right now at http://mmm.checkvist.com (same credentials, same data, it's just a staging server for the mobile development).
We're going to have some bugs and usability problems fixed before the release, and if you want to help us, you are absolutely welcome :)
Thanks and till soon!

Agreed... this is encouraging!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I only just now have realized that one should scroll by placing one's finger on the far left side of the screen... this area will not cause inadvertent selections of items in your list... maybe some on-screen indication of this could be made? Perhaps I'm the only one who has not noticed this. The apparent downside of being right-handed...
Thanks, Michael Reville, Jim McGuire !
ReplyDeleteJim, is it problematic to have a selection move when scrolling the page? Why so, could you explain?
Kirill Maximov I can try...
ReplyDeleteIf I have the list:
----------------------------------
The Cat in the Hat
Thing One
Thing Two
----------------------------------
While scrolling, if I have an item selected (Thing Two), I could end up with:
-----------------------------------
Thing Two
The Cat in the Hat
Thing One
------------------------------------
Of course, one would only scroll with a longer list... but I think you get the idea. But if I scroll by using the far left of the screen - next to the indented items - I find there is no accidental item selecting, and no possible re-ordering of the items with unintended dragging / dropping.
If some visual cue were made for the user of this "scroll area", I'll bet there would be more happiness among those using the mobile client.
Michael Reville We've made a couple of improvements to increase the interface responsiveness, especially on iOS. Glad you noticed :)
ReplyDeleteJim McGuire Hmm. I thought I've fixed occasional list item move on scrolling. What kind of mobile device you're using?
Kirill Maximov, a OnePlus One, running Cyanogen 12.1. It may be improved, but it's a very definite problem for me. Thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteJim McGuire Thanks, I see. Do you use Cyanogen Browser or Chrome? Looks like we'll have to use a solution like this, though don't want to: http://checkvist.uservoice.com/forums/239385-checkvist-mobile/suggestions/7142781-use-grab-bars-at-right-to-move-items-use-long-pre
ReplyDeleteKirill Maximov I use the Chrome browser. But upon seeing your question, I tried the Cyanogen Browser... it's not so different, as far as I can tell. Do you really need to implement grab bars? I noticed that area on the left of the browser screen works very well for scrolling... if it was somehow highlighted in some way, no additional screen real estate would have to be sacrificed...
ReplyDeleteJim McGuire We're also considering to add extra space on the right part of the screen, to enable safe scrolling there. We'll see whether it will work.
ReplyDeleteWhat gestures are supported?
ReplyDeleteHello Edo,
ReplyDeleteSo far only reordering via tap-and-hold is supported.
Other gestures are being considered, your suggestions are welcome :)
Best,
