Hello, friends! Please help us test the new feature - multi-selection (bulk operations).
Hello, friends! Please help us test the new feature - multi-selection (bulk operations).
Now on http://beta.checkvist.com (same credentials, same data):
- Multi-select and copy/paste several list items at once
- Indent/un-indent
- Ctrl+Up/Down to re-order list items
- Close/open several tasks
- Delete
Do you like how it works? Any glitches? Support for adding attributes (like tags, due dates, etc) is in the works.
Thanks!
On MacOSX ctrl+up/down arrows are related to "Mission Control" app (http://www.danrodney.com/mac/) or do I miss something ?
ReplyDeleteMultiple copies/deletions work fine, as well as indent/outdent
Multi-selection + shift&mouse to re-order does not work
ReplyDeletePhilippe Demoulin Thanks for trying this! On Mac you can use Cmd+arrows for reordering, instead of Ctrl+arrows. Shift+mouse reordering doesn't work, we haven't implemented it. It is rather tricky, may be a bit later, if there will be a high demand.
ReplyDeleteOk, cmd+up/down works fine
ReplyDeleteHow can I select tasks like in a screenshot above?

You can use Shift+arrows to create a flat selection, and use Ctrl+Click (Cmd+Click on Mac) to exclude some items from selection.
ReplyDeleteCtrl+Click... will there be a mouseless alternative?
ReplyDeleteRalf Hauber Do you mean something like:
ReplyDelete* use up/down arrows to highligh items
* press "sk" (for Selection Keep) to add the item to the selection ?
* press "sd" (for Selection Disgard) to remove item from the current selection ? Note: "ss" for Selection Suppress is already used ;)
* apply action to all the selected items, like dd or...
?
We tried to make the behaviour similar to the one in the Explorer/Finder, when doing multiple selection there. This way for multiple selection should remain by default.
ReplyDeleteBut the idea of having a separate shortcut for a sticky selection is an interesting one.
May be 'st' could work to toggle a sticky selection, which preserves during navigating.
We'll think about this, thanks for idea!
P.S. In the meanwhile, you can try setting/removing tags on multiple selection with 'tt' and 'ct' shortcuts.
Yes, 'st' toggle is a great idea.
ReplyDeletePhilippe Demoulin Yes, I meant something like that.
ReplyDeleteKirill Maximov I agree that consistency is important, and that's a good way to select multiple items. In addition, 'st' sounds good.
